The weight loss diet supplement industry is huge and many people spend thousands of dollars each year on them, with the hope of speeding up their weight loss plan. Even though the industry is booming, still more and more people are overweight and unable to lose weight using these products on store shelves.
In America alone it is reported that more than sixty percent of adults are considered overweight and thirty percent are considered obese. Could this be because these weight loss diet supplements do not work?
Could it also be because the industry relies on the overweight person's failure to make more money? One conclusion to draw would be that these diet supplements are useless and ineffective. Why then do people buy them again and again?
Even though the FDA has banned some of the illegal activities in this industry, some marketers still manage to get their fake products on the market. Not only are these products ineffective, they contain ingredients that pose health risks such as heart and digestive problems, headaches, insomnia as well as psychological problems. Side effects could turn out to be worse that the weight problem so beware.
There are a few products that have been found promising however, as weight loss supplements. These are said to prevent the absorption of carbohydrates. One example is a product called Chitosan, although so far it has been ineffective in absorbing fat. In addition it takes months to see any change in body weight.
Another product called Guar Gum is said to suppress appetite and make one feel full sooner, however recent studies do not support these claims and the claim that it is beneficial as a weight loss diet supplement. The only benefit so far detected is that it contains Psyllium which helps in controlling blood cholesterol and sugar.
One latest innovation in the fat loss industry is by way of skin absorption. One such product is Cutting Gel which is an Epidril product and a fast seller in fat loss creams. You have to rub this cream where you want to cut the fat. The question is does it work?
So far the conclusion to draw on weight loss diet supplements is that they are a waste of your money and time. You are better off investing some of the money you waste on a good pair of walking shoes. A twenty minute a day brisk walk and a well balanced nutritious diet is all you need to lose weight.
